Half Day Fused Applique Land Scapes
Length 3 hours | Kit Required: $28
"Your Backyard" or "In the Country"
Participants may choose any landscape from the selected grouping. Even if you've never attempted fabric landscapes, using fusible applique is an exciting and surprisingly easy, no sew technique. With Doris' help, you'll learn how to create a landscape ready for matting and framing. Learn about layering, using fusible web, and how to mount your finished landscape; ready for a mat and frame.
Full Day Fused Applique Landscapes
Length: 5 hours | Kit (Required): $28
Participants will choose any one of the landscapes included in "In the Country" or "You're Backyard" Doris will present 2 methods of fused applique landscapes; no-sew, ready for mat and frame, plus fused applique landscape ready for borders and quilting. This full day workshop offers more demonstrations, handouts, and more time to complete a landscape than the three hour.

Add another dimension to your creative quilt making with Shiva Oil Paintstiks�. Paintstiks are great for embellishing quilts, garments, and home decor. In this techniques class, you will learn how to create layers of color, design, and texture on fabric simply by rubbing, stenciling, or masking out. Doris will demonstrate and give the newest tips on how to use paintstiks successfully. Get inspired with wonderful samples! You won't believe how fun and easy paintstiks are!
Kit : Includes mini set of 3 Iridescent Shiva Oil Paintstiks�, stencil brush and stencil to keep, handouts, use of rubbing plates, stencils, and all workshop materials.
Lectures
Lectures include a 30-40 minute slide show presentation. Please allow additional time for questions.
Framed Fabric Landscapes & Quilt Blocks - Is it fine art?
Being open to new methods and materials brings the "craft" of quilting to the"art" of fiber work. Follow an artist's journey to develop her fiber art into fine art. Where does framed fiber art fit? Is it craft or is it fine art? This is a slide show filled with information and inspiration about Doris' unusual techniques. Starting your own home business can be very challenging but allows for growth at your own pace and flexibility in your daily schedule. Doris started her home business "Fabrications" in 1997 as a part time cottage business with 5 children at home.
